Alia Griese presents PROM (Please Run Over Me): featuring all sorts of things I made while succumbing to social anxiety and staying home, just like I did for prom in high school. I’m obsessed with the adolescent experience as the historical and narrative site of our initial descent into the underworld— everything’s gross and dreamy, and if you did it right, you did it wrong. My favorite things to paint and draw come from a wishful and fearful place, as my approach to art-making is generally unplanned. You’re cordially invited, please come dressed up to make your high-school-self proud or ashamed. And if you stay home, it’s all good!
